BELLINGHAM, WA, UNITED STATES, October 26, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Author Mallina Wilson will release her memoir, All in a Moment, on Oct. 27, sharing a deeply personal story of loss, unanswered questions, survival and the decades-long journey toward healing and forgiveness.

For Wilson, the launch is about more than releasing a book.

She hopes All in a Moment will help create a community for people who have experienced profound loss, trauma, unanswered questions or life-changing moments of their own — a place where people can share their stories, feel less alone and connect through experiences that are often difficult to put into words.

“When something changes your life in a moment, the story doesn’t end with what happened,” Wilson said. “There is everything that comes after — how you live with it, how it changes you and how you find a way forward. I want this book to open the door for those conversations.”

Wilson was 15 when her mother, Amina Agisheff, disappeared. Her remains were discovered two years later, but her killing has remained unsolved for more than four decades. Her case was later connected to the broader investigation involving Green River killer Gary Ridgway.

Although those circumstances form an important part of All in a Moment, Wilson’s memoir is not simply a true-crime story.

The book examines what happens to the people left behind — the effect of unresolved tragedy on a family, the questions that can remain for generations and Wilson’s journey through grief, addiction, survival, resilience and forgiveness.

Bestselling author J.A. Jance and retired Los Angeles Police Department homicide detective Steve Hodel have already praised All in a Moment.

“All in a Moment is the inspiring and courageous story of someone who survived a chaotic childhood, an incredible loss that made headlines around the country, and a fierce battle with addiction only to come out on the other side armed with both optimism and grace. It’s the tale of someone who’s been there and done almost everything only to live long enough to tell the tale,” said Jance, a New York Times bestselling author known for the J.P. Beaumont, Joanna Brady and Ali Reynolds series.

Hodel, a retired LAPD homicide detective and author of Black Dahlia Avenger, called the book “a deeply personal and courageous memoir about murder, loss, survival, and the long road toward forgiveness.”

“Mallina Wilson reminds us that the aftermath of violent crime belongs not only to the victim, but to the family left behind — and that sometimes the hardest answers are the ones we must learn to live without,” Hodel said.

Wilson will host both virtual and in-person launch events Oct. 27.

The virtual launch will begin at 10 a.m. PT and will give readers an opportunity to hear Wilson discuss the story behind the memoir, the writing process and what she hopes readers will take from her experience.

Registration and event information are available at allinamoment.com.

An in-person celebration will follow from 5 to 7 p.m. Oct. 27 at the Bellingham Ferry Terminal in Bellingham.

The event will include an author reading and conversation with Wilson, an audience question-and-answer session, refreshments, a silent auction and interactive experience stations.

Guests will be invited to contribute to a “Share Your Moment” wall, record video messages, take photos and share their own reflections.

Attendees who purchase the book will receive charity tokens they can use to direct support to participating local organizations. The event will also feature a charitable book-giving initiative aimed at providing copies of All in a Moment to organizations and communities that may benefit from its message.

Book purchasers will also have an opportunity to meet Wilson and receive a signed commemorative card.

The interactive elements reflect Wilson’s larger vision for the book: creating opportunities for people not only to read her story, but also to recognize and share their own.

“This may be my story, but I know I’m not the only person who has carried grief, unanswered questions or something from the past that changed the course of their life,” Wilson said. “If sharing my story gives someone else permission to share theirs, or helps someone feel understood, then this book has done something meaningful.”

Wilson sees the Oct. 27 events as the beginning of a broader community centered on people navigating grief, trauma, family loss and unanswered questions.

The goal, she said, is not to provide easy answers to difficult experiences, but to create a place where people can connect and share stories that often remain unspoken.

All in a Moment will be released Oct. 27 and is available to order at allinamoment.com.
