BELLINGHAM, FL, UNITED STATES, September 15, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Mallina Wilson, a Bellingham-based author, real estate professional and community leader, will release her memoir, All in a Moment, this October. The book shares Wilson’s deeply personal journey after the disappearance and murder of her mother, Amina Agisheff, and explores how trauma, grief and anger can eventually give way to forgiveness, reconciliation and peace.

Wilson was 15 when her mother kissed her forehead, said, “I love you. I will see you later,” and disappeared.

Two years later, just weeks before Wilson’s high school graduation, her mother’s remains were found near North Bend, Washington. Investigators told the family that Agisheff was the first victim on a list connected to the man who would become known as the Green River Killer, Gary Ridgway, though he was never charged with her murder. Forty-four years later, her case remains unsolved.

Although the book begins with a crime connected to one of the most notorious serial murder cases in American history, All in a Moment is not a true-crime book. Instead, Wilson focuses on what happens after the headlines fade: the impact on surviving family members, the weight of unanswered questions and the difficult path toward healing.

“All in a moment, a life can shatter. But in that same moment, the journey to wholeness begins,” Wilson writes.

The memoir follows Wilson from a chaotic childhood through decades of grief, abandonment, shame and anger. It also challenges the common advice often given to people in pain: “let it go.”

“That phrase, ‘let it go,’ still makes me cringe,” Wilson writes. “There’s no such thing as letting go of those things. You don’t let it go. You learn to let it change you.”

Through raw storytelling and spiritual reflection, Wilson examines the anatomy of grief, the long-term effects of trauma and the power of forgiveness. She wrote the book not to relive tragedy, but to help others who feel stuck in pain, anger or loss begin to imagine a different life.

All in a Moment speaks to readers who have experienced life-altering loss, family trauma, violent crime, abandonment or grief that does not resolve neatly. The book also contributes to broader conversations about trauma recovery, restorative justice, forgiveness and the private cost of public tragedy.

“A deeply personal and courageous memoir about murder, loss, survival, and the long road toward forgiveness. Mallina Wilson reminds us that the aftermath of violent crime belongs not only to the victim, but to the family left behind — and that sometimes the hardest answers are the ones we must learn to live without,” said Steve Hodel, retired Detective III with the LAPD Hollywood Homicide Division and author of Black Dahlia Avenger.

As part of the book’s launch, Wilson is inviting readers to share their own “all in a moment” stories. Readers may submit stories privately, anonymously or publicly through the book’s companion platform. The goal is to create a space where people who have experienced devastating turning points can feel less alone.

Wilson is a local real estate broker and owner of International Real Estate Investments Inc. She is also a certified business and personal coach, speaker and trainer. Based in Bellingham, she brings both professional leadership and personal experience to conversations about resilience, forgiveness, family legacy and rebuilding after loss.

All in a Moment will be released Oct. 27. Information about preorders, book bonuses, bulk-order opportunities, endorsements and story sharing is available at allinamoment.com.
