The NIPES Award of Excellence was established to recognize individuals whose work reflects distinction, originality, impact, leadership, and meaningful contribution in engineering, science, research, innovation, environmental sustainability, humanitarian advancement, and related areas of professional achievement. Through this recognition, NIPES reaffirms its commitment to promoting credible, merit-based systems of honor for outstanding contributors whose work advances knowledge, strengthens society, and supports excellence in professional and scientific practice.
A total of 146 applications were received in the first cycle of the 2026 awards. Following a structured multi-stage process involving administrative screening, eligibility review, documentary verification, panel evaluation, validation of shortlisted applications, and final approval by the Awards Committee, six recipients were selected for recognition in their respective categories.
The recipients are:
1. Adeyemi Adejumobi – Engineering & Science Visionary Support Award
2. Kwesi Twentwewa Quagraine – Excellence in Environmental Sustainability and Climate Change Mitigation
3. Motunrayo Ayobami Ogunmola – Humanitarian Engineering & Science Award
4. Bosede Olawumi Ogunbamise – Excellence in Modelling, Simulations, and Digital Twin Technologies
5. Victoria Sharon Akinlolu – Outstanding Contribution to Research and Innovation
6. Yun-Fei Fu – Young Scientist of the Year (2026)
These recipients were selected in recognition of their demonstrated excellence, sustained accomplishments, and the significance of their contributions within their respective fields.
